TR1: Muscle Memory/Cold Turkey

Run 1 down... 12/30, 2 miles.

Time/Pace:  Total time, with warmup and cool down 30minutes

Mile 1:  10-12 minute pace       (with the wind)
Mile 2: 10-11 minute pace (into the wind)

Weather:

Temperature:  38° F
Foggy
Feels like:  30° F
Chance of Percipitation:  10%...sleety
Humidity:  96%
Wind:  From SSE, 13 mph

Insights:  Music is a necessity..wow, it made it possible to make it through, even without running since the summer.  NO WALKING.  I am amazed by the awesomeness (is that a word) of the Freewheeler!  Little Gunner was so comfy, he was out by the end of song 1...the weather shield kept him dry and warm.  Despite running into 13 mph winds, he didn't even have cool to touch cheeks!

March for Babies, Run for Dimes

Last year when I first "Marched for Babies" many folks asked me if they could sponsor me by the mile.  However, the three miles that the walk is, isn't that spectacular of a number.  So, this year, I have found a way that they can do just that.  I am "Running for Dimes".

A friend of mine is training for a half marathon.  She came up with the idea that goes something like this:

"So, on a take off the old bike-a-thons we used to do as a kid where people would sponsor you so much for every mile you could ride in a given time, MARCH FOR BABIES, RUN FOR DIMES is similar in that you can sponsor me for every mile I run between Jan 1 and April 15th"

For me, this is a win-win situation.  I NEED to get moving for health and exercise, but collecting dimes for each mile and donating them to the March of Dimes, a cause which I already am extremely passioniate about because of Gunner's story, is even more motivating!

Meet Crazy Momma Jogger

Please note the title..CRAZY momma jogger.  That's me.  Crazy.  Because you all know how motivated for babies I am, the same cannot be said about my working out as of late.  So, when a friend of mine decided she was going to March for Babies, Run for Dimes..I got crazy.  I actually thought it was a great idea.  For me, I need something very outrageous to get me off the couch in this very cold winter weather..and this may be it!

In fact, I already got off the couch yesterday, and RAN in less than 30-degree weather!  That is taking crazy to another level.
